the Twitter Formula: TS = FUD (Twitter Satisfaction = Following good tweeps, Unfollowing shallow tweeps, Discovering new tweeps)
1. Twitter is like IM broadcasting. 2. Twitter is not something you leave open and follow. 3. In order to effective in "working Twitter" you have to manage the stream of Tweets.
Just BE REAL. Don't AUTO-ME. And dont SELL at me. Many think Twitter is an advertising platform, well, folks, I guess if the entire web is an advertising platform then go for it, but TwitterSpam and TwitterPorn and TwitterViruses are becoming real and annoying. So by becoming an AUTO-BOT you are injecting your REALness into that SPAM stream. And, as my old dad used to say, "You'll get what's comin to ya."
Use REALTIME, Be REAL not AUTO, Be HONEST about what you are after. If it's just more followers or hawking Printer Ink or Viagra, leave me out.
I'd say we are learning and trying to become better and this micro-switching, multi-threading process that is quite inefficient. I have been trying to achieve better focus by shutting down Twitter and Facebook and email when I am trying to write. IM is like the ultimate distraction, and Twitter is just like IM with lots of folks. So, if you want to get something done, TURN IT ALL OFF.
They do have some of the smartest people in the business. They are devoting a good chunk of their resources to Innovation pure and simple. And they will continue to roll out successful products and not-successful products. But the Twitters of the world will keep coming. And Google and Microsoft and Adobe cannot buy them all.
The FriendFeed Global Social Media Conversation ROOM is an initial discussion group for sharing the FFoFF idea and engaging some smart folks in a dialogue about it. So far it's mainly me posting notes and thoughts to myself, but eventually the FF Room tool should be a simple aggregator of any content necessary to build a custom feed.

Gain Velocity and Agility 5. Let go of the stress and overwhelm associated with information overload 6. A while back I went through a pairing down of my random follows. This was before I started using Tweetdeck. And now, with my tweets filtered by category, I have found myself recently wanting more ACTION. I sat there last night, just wanting some good creativity injections, or smart tweets, or inspiring witticisms and ... blink ... blink Nada! Waiting...
